Pratt County Fair

We just got home from a trip to Pratt and Wichita to visit Judson's mom and family and we are pooped!  The boys are asleep already and me and kitty are up doing laundry and watching tv.  Judson's cousin got married yesterday in Wichita, so we made a long weekend of it and visited friends and family.  Lex was great in the car and on the whole trip.  He got to do so many firsts.  First wedding, first big boy pool, first hotel, first kiss! :)

Squished baby!

Lex & Maylee.  We stopped by Abbyville to visit Josh & Devon and Maylee Dellenbach.  Maylee is 1yr old and walking wonderfully, but she kept Lex just out of reach and held tight to her mommy.  Lex was so interested in figuring Maylee out, he went through all her toys and loved just playing with her.  She kept close to mommy and daddy and her baby doll.

Walking down memory lane!  Friday night Judson took me to the Pratt county fair to see the sights and remember childhood.

The Zipper! Judson and I had such fun walking through the fair and carnival.  Judson bought me a funnel cake and we ate it together, so yummy!  Brought back so many memories, but we didn't remember it being so dirty and the rides a little rickety!  (we didn't ride any)

Oink Oink!  Here are the pigs at the fair, I am sure that this ones name is wilbur!  We knew that Lex would have loved seeing all the farm animals, but he was too sleepy, maybe next year.

The funny goats!  This one really wanted to get out!
These were the 1st place grand prize winners.

Pratt pool here we come!

Judson and Lex at the Pratt pool where Judson used to be a lifeguard.  Lex just loves swimming!  He would have stayed there all day.

At cousin Julie's wedding!  Family photo before Lex turned into a pumpkin.  He did so well, then everything got a little overwhelming for him.  We loved seeing the family, but I took the baby home and called it an early night.  phew what a weekend! so much fun.

Here Comes Lex!

Baby Lex and Daddy, went out to the back yard to ride the tricycle this week. Lex can't wait to ride all over the place, he's still trying to figure everything out, and discovering something new everyday.   Mr explorer!
My little perfect poser!  He was so big all by himself!
Here he is ridding, with a little help from daddy.

Lex loved the sea shells, he found in his room this week.  Grandmary brought them up for him from the Texas coast a few months ago, and he was too little to play with them.  Now he loves hearing the clanking noise when he pulls them out and throws them back in the bucket.

trying to get the camera~

playing perfectly!

He wanted to show y'all his crawling too!

Happy Fourth of July

Happy 4th of July!  We went to the Lake Quivira Country Club to celebrate with Judson's family.  We got there at 10:45 for the parade, Lex wasn't so sure he was going to like it.
The Stanion's
Laura, Will, Bob (Judson's Brother) , Judson, Lex, Me, Christi (Judson's sister)

Lex rode with Aunt Christi, and Grandma Judy in the parade!  What spirit he has!

Lex and Will tried out the swings, to see if they were a fun activity.

Yes! we have success!  Fun was had by all!

Grandma Susie, was there too, with Bob & Laura & Will.

Bob & Will & Lex & Judson trying out the beach. Lex didn't have his swim trunks on, but he sure wanted to sit in that sand and splash around.

Me & Lex & Judson in the lake!  Lex loved the water, mommy could only handle it for a little while, so we got out!
So much work on the 4th of July tuckers a lil guy out!

Pool Time and Play Date

Here we go!

Yesterday Lex & I went to the pool for the first time, with our friends Gina & Addison, and their friends Melanie and Julian (he was born in Sept).  Addison was born on Dec 12, and Gina and I have become fast friends, and the boys are just discovering each other.  This was Lex's first real play date too, and he loved it!  Lex loves the water and it's been so hot, that we thought it would be the perfect summer play time. Julian was so nice to share his toys, we brought a floatie, but got scolded by the teenage lifeguard.  Somehow I'm still breaking the rules!
Addison wasn't so sure about the water, so I put Lex in very slowly, & apparently that's just for babies, as soon as his feet touched the water it was kick and play time!  He skipped a meal and sat in that pool for 2 hrs non stop.  I had to take him out and give him his bottle otherwise he'd still be there.   As soon as the last drop of milk was down, he konked out.  It's tough being 6 months old.

Play-dates are fun!  Fun in the sun!

Summer

Hello again, we've been busy this summer, so far, lots of company and fun trips.  My mom and Jesse and Heather and Robert came to visit us last month and then Ginny came too!
Lex & Matthew had such a time playing.  Ginny came up to visit two weekends ago, for her birthday, and to see Heather and show off Matthew.  Lex was fascinated with him, and kept trying to kiss him.  I know they'll be fast friends.

Teaching him all I know!

Summer is here and it has been warm, but we welcome it with open arms.  Lex is busy trying to crawl & walk.  This week he almost has the crawling down, and i spied him trying to pull himself up on the coffee table.  He also is cutting his first tooth, bottom right, so this week has been topsy turvy.  He hasn't been too fussy, just different sleeping and eating patterns.  Judson and I are so glad to be back home and together.  The next few weeks we don't have anything planned and it's so great!  I have been keeping up with the yard, and really enjoying it.  i don't think I'm very good at it, but i've found peace in pulling weeds in the flower beds i've dug.  Judson's been pretty slow at work, so he's found time to help our neighbors and mow the lawn.  We are both loving summer and enjoying watching Lex grow. More next week with 4th of July pics!

Home Again

Lexington Ave and 53rd st it's his street!
At the ballet

Today finds us home sweet home.  Judson and I spent last week having quite the time in NYC!  It was so hard to leave our little man at home, but his Grandmary took excellent care of him while we were away.  We got to do a ton of shopping, go to the American Ballet Theatre, see good friends, have amazing meals, and just reconnect.  It was a much needed break and Judson and I felt we were able to get to know each other again.  By tuesday we were ready to be home with our little boy.  I just about pushed people off the plane so I could run and scoop him up in my arms!
Lex just thrived while we were away.  He can eat one whole mashed banana in one sitting & and he can sit up all by himself!  He is discovering something new every day & he can't wait to grow up.
